    Homo

Homo erectus is considered the most successful species in the genus Homo because it existed for about 1.5 million years. Compare that to us (H. sapiens) who have lived only about 200,000 years.

    H. erectus’ brain size increased as the species evolved from a lower limit of 775 ccs to an upper limit of 1225 ccs (modern human brain is around 1350 ccs), however, from the beginning of H. erectus’ existence to its end, they all used the same simple stone tools. 1.5 million years and not a single new invention.

It only took us one-hundred and ninety-nine thousand nine-hundred and sixty years to set foot on the moon (approximately).
